Which bookkeeping credential fits you?
Answer five bounded questions about your experience, your goal, whether your work is QuickBooks-centric, your budget, and how much time you have. This tool ranks the four bookkeeping-adjacent credentials, Certified Bookkeeper (CB) from AIPB (American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers), Certified Public Bookkeeper (CPB) from NACPB (National Association of Certified Public Bookkeepers), Intuit Academy Bookkeeping, and QuickBooks Online (QBO) ProAdvisor, for your specific case. It runs entirely in your browser. There is no signup, no email, and no wall, and we sell no course.
How the ranking works
The logic is a deterministic decision-tree plus a weighted match over the neutral cross-credential comparison. Your goal and software focus set the scope fit (employed bookkeeping, freelance rate, solo-practice credibility, or a software-fluency signal), your experience band nudges eligibility fit, and budget and time shape which path is realistic right now without ever overriding scope fit. The tool will sometimes say a certification is not the next move for you at all, and it will point to a cheaper or faster path when one plainly fits better, which is exactly why the four sellers do not build this.
What the tool never does
- It takes no side and sells no course.
- It stores nothing about you: your inputs never leave your device.
- It reports only anonymous, aggregate, bucketed statistics (see privacy).
